I just wanna camp!
I think we had all been craving a bit of camping action. We went to a place about 30 minutes outside of Austin, called Muleshoe. At first we were a bit worried because we had arrived late and were scrambling to find an open spot. It quickly became apparent that the park was full and the sun was quickly dropping to the west. After much deliberation we decided we would make our own spot. We created a fire pit and pitched the tents. Natalie and Tim arrived while we were playing horseshoes. There is no one, and I mean no one, better to go camping with than Tim. He brought his telescope and showed us Jupiter and the moon. He also brought fun party favors: glow-in-the-dark bracelets. My friend Ryan was the chef. He created foil packs with salmon, veggies and a wonderful pesto which he grilled on the fire. Amanda was the maestro of the smores. She helped everyone load the clothing hangers with marshmallows and was ready when it was time to choclify and grahamify.
Tim bought everyone glow-in-the-dark bracelets, I guess so we could find each other in the woods??? It was a great idea, we had a lot of fun...especially Amanda!
The Cathedral of Junk
It was a humid autumn day when Natalie decided to throw a party at the Cathedral of Junk. Who wouldn't want to get crazy in a backyard, in south Austin, that housed an enormous structure made entirely of random objects? We had a lot of fun- thanks Nat for making it happen!
Abraham George made an appearance that weekend, along with Scott S. It was a mini law school reunion of sorts.
Vermont and Canada Here We Come (or Where we Went)!
Aly planned a girls' trip to Canada recently. The trip started in Burlington, Vermont where we visited Shelburne Farms and enjoyed the gorgeous fall scenery. We drove to Montreal for some real fun. Aly's French reemerged, unscathed. On the way back to Vermont we stopped at a local cheese farm (Nat- did we decide on "cheesery"??)
Our last night in Burlington, Vermont we had a happy picnic in our hotel room. Almost everything was local- Vermont apples, cheese and sausage. If you look closely you can see our napkins from the local Dunkin' Donuts. (Or Dunkos as Abe would say).
