food for thought

"The Golden Arches are now more widely recognized than the Christian cross." - Eric Schlosser, author of Fast Food Nation, in his new book Chew On This.

"We're a big, fat, lazy, wasteful, gullible culture. We'll swallow anything. We'll sell our parental pride for $2.89." - Dan Rodicks, Baltimore Sun columist, on parents buying premade, frozen peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches for their children.

"The trouble with resisting temptation is it may never come your way again." -Korman's Law

"No matter what their labels say, margarines are basically the same- mixtures of soybean oil and food additives. Everything else is theater and greasepaint." -Marion Nestle, nutrionist

comfort X 2

Today my bed frame was delivered, and I was dreading the assembly portion of the process. After a looooong day which included file review and a few "interesting" clients, not to mention that I'm interviewing candidates to find my new legal assistant...I was EXhausted. I'm so thankful to have incredible people in my office, even if some of them make fun of my Argentine accent ;)

I'm posting pics of the bed...only because I'm so proud that I was able to assemble it myself. You might be asking yourself, "So, what...is this girl crazy?!" My mom was blessed with all the manual skills and I've always been a book nerd, so for me it was quite the accomplishment.

the start

i started work about one week ago...since then i've been to austin spending time with the fam and to see NATALIE after her arrival from Spain!! we had a bbq on saturday and it was the first time in about two years that all four sibs were back in TX together...

I thought i'd change my blog address, but i changed my mind. It's much easier to keep the same one and change its title. It's now "Kelly's hOMe" and I think it fits the situation... time for an evolution. I hope you are all happy and healthy.

Much love!
