This weekend we had our firm retreat. It was amazing, and we actually managed to fit in a few hours of actual instruction. I won't go into graffic details about people you don't know yet...long story short, good times. We ended the weekend with a spirit competition where we had to do a firm-based skit. All i'm going to say about that is that there were men dressed in water bras and skirts. We won, hands down. :) I hope all is well!

Susan Powder?? Nope, it's Nick getting ready for our (winning) skit.

Leatrice and Tracy both work in Killeen...and they're both as cute as punch (no pun intended).

Sam, James, and Mary...enjoying the Mayan Ranch.

Nick and James...two of the nicest guys at CLF.

Blurry, but still...finding a scorpion in your bedroom is never that fun.

Aubrey, the chef, with Aly.

Sam, you didn't even go to LSU!!
saturday in austin
I was in Austin again last weekend and Saturday turned out to be a borderline perfect day. Amanda and I woke up and had iced coffee at Azul on the east side. If you live in Austin and you've never been, it's definitely worth checking out. (Although I'll always be a Flightpath girl). Then we met Natalie and Aly at the nearby community garden plot that they have. Aly trusted me enough to allow me to plant some good stuff: arugula, sugar snap peas, and butter crunch lettuce.
Next, Amanda and I went to Town Lake for a run. The weather was perfect! We finished that off with snow cones from Snow Beach. Apparently it's an Austin classic, but I've never been. I guess it was nice timing when a truck full of firemen pulled up just as we were getting our cool treats- pink grapefruit for me, wedding cake for Amanda.
We watched UT v. Ohio State at The Tavern on Lamar. It was fun, but for those of you who know me, the Longhorns' loss wasn't enough to ruin the day. I do have to say that the Ohio State fans are a lot classier than those from other schools that I won't mention.
We ended the night at a party thrown by some people that work at the bike shop with Natalie. Very interesting to say the least. I won't go into details, but the music was pretty good and I was with the sisters and Amanda so I was on cloud 9.
This weekend is the Austin City Limits Festival and it starts with Thievery Corporation at Stubbs on Thursday...to say I'm excited is an understatement.
Hope everyone is enjoying this preamble-to-fall/September week...

Here's a pic of where it all went down. THANK YOU Papi for hosting such a great party! I think it's safe to say that we all had a blast. Another great Austin weekend :)

Abe and "Anuncio"

I'm SO happy Abe made it for the festivities. He calls Aly "anuncio" because of the way she pronounces certain words. I heart Abe.
