just a second of your time...
According to a book that I'm currently listening to, yes listening, Italians use a word to describe sports fans which stems from the same root as the word for typhus (most likely latin)...with the implication that it's a feverish fanaticism. I've never been a huge purveyor of sports but I do get into soccer. After living in Argentina I realized how loyal people are to their teams- in Buenos Aires it was either Boca or River por ejemplo. Anyway, I just thought I'd get fanatic about a few things myself:
Book- I Like You, by Amy Sedaris
Music- Nina Simone, Remixed and Reimagined
Movie- Happy Feet (RUN, don't walk to see this film...it is precious and the music makes you want to tap dance in the theater).
