crow/crane asana (posture)
Here's the posture that left me with a fun bruise on my right knee. I held it for a few seconds before falling, with grace, to a defeated mess on the unforgiving floor.
Guess I forgot to leave my ego at the door as I had been instructed to do!
am radio
Al Franken is funny, honestly scathing at times and an intelligent social critic BUT who knew he was so darn conceited? I was listening to his radio show this morning on the way home from yoga and he was more concerned with self-accolades than political commentary. Yes, the Letterman comment was sarcastically funny but did he need to replay it on the air
three times???
The Texas Book Festival is coming up and I'm especially excited about hearing Salman Rushdie again. http://www.texasbookfestival.org/ for those interested...
Tuesday's FYI: Argentine wines account for less than 2% of the $22 billion U.S. wine market.* That's a downright tragedy!

Is it possible to have a peanut butter addiction??? I have a killer headache and I realized that I haven't had my daily dose of that lovely substance. Next to yoga, it's my healthiest addiction.
Happy Birthday to my cousin, Zack Bolger, 18 on the 22nd!
ASTROS all the way...
thought for the day
May all that have life be delivered from suffering.
Sometimes life throws you a curve ball, it's best not to think too deeply about it. This I've realized...and now I'll go back to my Shakira and "La Tortura." Then a moon-lit walk.
Peace.
She'll have to avoid Highlands Mall for awhile...
A tip for all you single guys out there- it's probably not a good idea to pour your heart out on the first voicemail that you leave for a girl. Especially when you snagged her number while working at a cellphone kiosk in the mall.
According to John*, Amanda has the most beautiful smile and eyes he's seen. He wants to hang out and make friends...I was actually shocked at how much he put himself out there though, that takes guts.
Now that's Verizon Customer Service. "We never stop working for you."

thought of the day
Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances, you just have to live life to the fullest. Don't be afraid to take chances and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.
It's fun/frustrating to practice yoga next to someone as bendy as this girl I was next to today. At the same time, it is totally inspiring. I think that's why they call it "practice," why can I STILL not do the crow posture???! The fun thing about yoga is that it feeds the soul and it prepares you to live every moment of your day IN that moment.
Just some random feel good for today. Life's a gamble, isn't it?
(Don't take this post too seriously, I'm just ranting and listening to too much Sheryl Crow).
2 years in austin and nobody told me
Natalie A. Stolpman, I blame you for not telling me what a performer Bob Schneider actually is. Tonight was my first show and it was in a local venue. I actually stood shoulder to shoulder with him outside, but not before seeing the stage bum-rushed by women of all shapes and sizes...all of them hoping for just a word with the local Austin musician.
Although "groupie" has never been my role, I highly encourage non-Texans to check this guy out. He's very versatile and small stages always make for a good time.
And as an aside- the pumpkin soup, despite the neverending heat, was still a success. I added a Thai twist with peppers, coconut milk, cilantro, ginger- mmm, good.
Happy Tuesday!
10/2
Wow. How often do you feel THAT proud to live in Austin? Apparently, according to Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow, it's the "coolest city on the planet." Well I would have argued Guadalarja, Buenos Aires, San Fran, and others as contenders...but you get the point. They gave a thank-you-austin concert tonight that was totally vale la pena. It's even more fun when you're sharing an apartment with your favorite cousin!
Tomorrow I am going to force it and make pumpkin soup, I know it's still hot!!! It needs to be done...I'm ready to start wearing my winter boots. Yes, I know I live in Texas but if you pair knee high boots with a mid-length skirt it's the perfect compromise.
AGS LOVE NEW YORK! (Thank the Lord we beat the Baylor Bears).
Amanda, this is for you- "where'd all the good people go???" I'm not quite sure myself.
