Red Rocks, Manu Chao and Cruisers- Oh MY!

This weekend Amanda, Aly and I went to Denver to see Manu Chao at the breathtaking Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It was by far the best concert venue I've ever been to. The crowd was lively as the eclectic beats reverberated against the monolithic rocks. We were able to watch the sunset disappear behind the Rocky Mountains.
The next day we rented bikes and rode around the city's many bike trails. At this point we were already dreading the return to hot and humid Texas. The Schwinn Cruiser that I rented was sleek and funky with a funny sounding bell. I think it would be a great companion bike for my Trek hybrid. I was especially loving the old-school back breaks, even though it took me awhile to get used to.
My uncle Steve, Amanda's dad, came to Denver on Sunday and we had a relaxing time strolling through Amanda's old neighborhood. It was a walk down memory lane for all of us as Aly and I had stayed there with Amanda several summers ago.
Thanks to Sasha, Amanda's friend, we were able to stay downtown near all the action. Denver has really done an incredible job of reinventing this part of town. It's now a very clean, gathering district for families to relax near the river, young people looking for a fun night out and bikers headed on their daily routes.

A (poor) shot of the stage...

Jagged rocks like the one in this background make up the walls of the amphiteater.
