Those Red Rocks are sandstone, specifically from the Fountain formation.

The rocks were formed about 290 million years ago, around the beginning of the Permian period.

Later, as the Rocky Mountains were formed (during the Laramide orogeny, approximately 60 million years ago) the formation was uplifted, creating the signature tilted angle of Red Rocks.

The sandstone contains elevated levels of iron oxide which provide the red coloration (like rust). Over millions of years, rocks like these were gradually eroded and migrated downstream to areas like northern Texas and Oklahoma; places where rivers and dirt appear red.
